Introduction to Security Featuring the Juniper SRX Firewall

May 19 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm UTC+0

Join us for a hands on workshop where you will learn security basics and get hands-on with the Juniper SRX firewall!

As an attendee of this workshop it will be expected that you have an intermediate understanding of JUNOS.  This includes the ability to configure basic configuration elements via the CLI (interfaces, system services etc).

If you are unsure if you meet this requirement, please register and attend one of our ‘Intro to Junos’ workshops prior to your scheduled date.

You can find the current schedule of classes listed on the events page of the Integration Partners website. You can also ask your Integration Partners account rep if they can set something up for you!

The agenda for this workshop will touch on the following topics with labs to enforce certain key components, technologies and concepts:

  • Security Basics and High Level Concepts
  • Security Zones
  • Device Administration
  • Security Policies
  • Screen Options
  • Firewall Filters
  • Network Address Translation
  • IPSec Tunnels

In order to participate in the hands-on labs included with this workshop, you will need the following:

  • A Computer with Internet Access
  • and the ability to telnet & RDP to a public IP address

This is important because corporate firewalls and VPN’s can sometimes enforce rules that block these services and prevent students from being able to access the lab environment.
